Round and Round

It got delivered and set up tonight.  I’m super excited!  It’s a crap photo but I don’t have a lot of direct light in my place.  Anyways, it didn’t take long to set up and I was quickly playing albums.

I started with Catl because that was the first one I got, but I have since played Adele, Bon Ivor and I’m currently enjoying The Boss.  Don’t worry, I’ll do reviews on them later, right now I just want to sit back and enjoy.

Purchased

Yesterday was a big day for me; I finally purchased a turntable.  I’ll leave it as a surprise to what I go for when I set it up, I’m looking forward to it.  I went with my dad too a couple of his favourite shops but we spent the most time talking to John from My Kind Of Music.  My dad considers him one of the best guys in the biz and he wasn’t wrong.  John knows his stuff!

I ended up spending a little more than I had originally planned but I guess it’s an investment, this could be the only record player I ever own.

That morning I’d gone to brunch with friends and walked into the local She Said Boom (one of my favourite stores in the city) and picked up a few albums to help celebrate the up coming purchase.  I bought them on a whim and I could see myself doing it again in the future.  This is going to be a expensive lifestyle.

Deciding

My dad’s a bit of an audiophile and when it comes to stereo systems I trust him; he knows his shit.  I told him that I was serious about getting a turntable and asked him to help narrow it down the options.  He came back with the Rega and Pro-ject.

Now I don’t really know the big difference between the two, they’re both very good.  So I’ve put the question to Reddit.  Hopefully they can help me find and answer.  Can you tell me what makes either one of the players great?
